Beautiful set of two, 3-D figural couples, wood framed, wall plaques purchased from an estate sale. They are apparently very old. We have taken pictures so that a collector may be able to discern their approximate age by the style and signs left by the manufacturing process. If we were to guess, we would say that these are European works of art and are so delicate they remind us of a French-style work.

Oval bisque plaques mounted on gold velvet fabric. Hand painted in pastel colors. Each figure is raised from the background. Both frames measures the same approx. 18-1/4" by almost 16 inches wide. Oval plaques each measures approx. 9-1/8 by 6-1/4" widest part.

Great vintage condition, no missing parts, no repairs, everything in tact.

The expressions on their faces and the attention to detail in the facial coloring reminds us of fine porcelain bisque figurines from the late 1800s. We have not been able to find any signatures or markings on them but we did remove the backing off on the frames.
