Antique 18th Century Pewter Charger Plate 13.5" Fish Motif
This is a fabulous antique 18th Century period English pewter dish charger plate. The plate is stamped, at the top, with what we believe is the "Crown Rose" and "some straight line initials on the brim ... possibly ownership marks . The plate has a shallow dish to the center with a wide rim surrounding. Pewter is notoriously difficult to date, however we believe the piece to be from the 18th Century. A fine collector's piece of Pewter Ware with Two Fish Hand Engraving Motif in the center. Fine Quality Estate Piece.
Date:
The plate dates from the 18th Century.
Condition:
The plate is scratched and has a few minor dings and dents, with some corrosion in areas, all adding to the charm, character and authenticity of the piece, having patina only achieved with age. It originally had some type of wall hanger attached to the back but somewhere along the past years it broke. We're guessing the owner decided to add his own attachment for hanging. See photos for closer details.
